F1PL Rules

  • F1PL is a game based around predicting the top six finishing positions at each round of the Formula One World Championship.
  • Each player must first register to play, supplying a valid email address.
  • Each player must submit a top six by selecting a driver for each position on the website. The submissions must be entered before the cut-off date posted on the website. Submissions will not be accepted after this time.
  • If a player fails to submit a top six before the cut-off, then they will receive no points for that race.
  • If a player forgets to submit a top 6, they may email the top six. Provided that the submission is recieved before the practice sessions have started, the submission will be valid and made on their behalf. It may not actually get passed into the system until after the race, before the results are updated.
  • Points are scored by correctly prediction the top six finishers at each race. Three points are awarded for a correct prediction, two points if the prediction was incorrect by one place and one point if the prediction was incorrect by two places.
For example, if you predicted that Juan Pablo Montoya would finish third, you would get one point if he actually finished first or fifth, two points if he was second or fourth and three points for a third place finish. Therefore, the most points that can be accrued from one race is 18. See the following example:
Position Your prediction Actual result Points
1 Michael Schumacher Michael Schumacher 3
2 Juan Pablo Montoya Kimi Raikkonen 1
3 Jenson Button Rubens Barrichello 0
4 Rubens Barrichello Juan Pablo Montoya 2
5 Jarno Trulli Fernando Alonso 2
6 David Coulthard Jarno Trulli 1
7 - Ralf Schumacher -
8 - David Coulthard -
Total 9
  • The top six finishers of each race are those as published by the FIA following each race. In the event of an appeal, the F1PL points will be deemed provisional until such time as the appeal has been heard and any change in top six placings have been reflected in the points awared to each player.
  • The player with the most points at the end of the season can be declared F1PL Champion. In the event of a tie, then the person with the biggest single round points haul is the winner. If this is a tie then we'll think of something else.
